Human stories, strategically told.

Michelle Lewis

I’m Michelle Lewis, an award-winning author, journalist, audio producer, and digital strategist based in Maine. Across my work in print, digital, and audio, I’ve interviewed rock stars, authors, artists, entrepreneurs, and community members, always with the same aim: understanding what people do, what they care about, and why it matters.

I tell human-centered stories that help people recognize themselves in their work and in their community. For businesses and organizations, those stories can bring forward the experiences of members, volunteers, clients, employees, donors, and beneficiaries, revealing the value behind their work and making their mission more visible.

Why trust me with your story?

Award-winning author

I’m the winner of the 2026 Maine Literary Award for Memoir and co-winner of the John N. Cole Award for Maine Nonfiction for Spare. I’m also the author of the award-winning Animul/Flame, as well as essays, reviews, articles, and creative work published in national and regional venues.

Experienced interviewer

I’ve conducted hundreds of interviews with artists, musicians, writers, business leaders, technologists, and community figures for music magazines, technology publications, local periodicals, newspapers, and digital content.

Digital strategist

I’ve had a long career helping organizations clarify their message and strengthen their online presence through websites, campaigns, search, analytics, and content strategy.

Audio Producer.

I’m the producer and host of the Pardon My… audio series, with experience in interview production, commercial audio, creative collaboration, and studio-based work.

Documentary training.

I’m a recipient of a Spotify Studios Union Scholarship and member of the 2026 cohort at the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.

People tell me things.

I pay attention. I’m curious, respectful, and hard to shock.

Ready to turn real voices into lasting story assets?

Whether you want to spotlight one remarkable person or build a recurring story series around your mission, the process begins with a guided recorded interview. From there, I shape the conversation into polished narrative pieces your organization can use across your website, newsletter, social media, donor materials, and internal communications.
